Corsebar Hypnotherapy Centre

The Corsebar Hypnotherapy Centre was established in April 1999. We work with individuals who are seeking complementary means to better health and a better quality of life.

As part of the Centre's growing remit, we also now run Practitioner and Post Graduate level training courses for the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists. At present there are two therapists working from the Centre - Kate Scott and John McEwen.

Kate

Kate spent many years in adult education and was involved in lecturing, course development, mentoring and counselling.

After successfully stopping smoking with the help of hypnotherapy she realised the potency of this therapy and set about the training and development necessary to practise as a fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist.

She is also a Reiki practitioner (2nd Degree - Usui System) but concentrates this therapy for the most part on animals.

Kate is a:

Registered Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Register (SQHP)
Member of the National Council of Psychotherapists (MNCP)
Member of the Advisory Council of, and post graduate trainer for, the N.S.P.H.

John

John spent 22 years in the Scottish Ambulance Service mainly in senior ranks where he functioned in a variety of roles at many different locations.

During this time he was in charge of the Service's response to some of the worst disasters in Scotland in recent years. Experience gained at tragedies such as Lockerbie and Dunblane and the rail crashes at Belgrove and Newton has meant that John came to be recognised as an expert in the field of Disaster Management and its consequences.

He became interested in clinical hypnosis initially as a tool for use in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD), but then widened his interest, trained and qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist - utilising his unique experience to address some of the more common stressors in modern life.

John is a:
